Sunday Beers
By Sarah Hughes
Well the sun comes up on my side of town around 6:45 a.m.
I rub my eyes and I hit the snooze button, it’s Monday morning again
Well I did it again just like last week, one more night to be free
Got wrapped up with my rowdy friends and let the booze get the best of me
Chorus:
Now it’s 18 years of Sunday beers, what more can I say?
Monday morning comes way too soon for me to waste this beautiful day
I’ve been working for the weekend all week long
Before I know it it’s almost gone
And now it’s 18 years of Sunday beers, try to hold on for one more day
You know I went down to my favorite watering hole for a cold one Sunday bout noon
The sun was still up and I innocent until my best friend entered the room
You know the band started playing my favorite song, everyone started to dance
I looked around and that’s when I knew that I didn’t have a chance
Chorus
