Train Wreck
By Sarah Hughes
Here today, gone tomorrow, watch me walk and it’s you I’ll follow down
My day has come try to believe me, close your eyes and you just might see me through
I shut my eyes and I bite my lip, sweaty hands and I lose my grip on you
Got no time and I’m losing patience, nothing left to do but let it go
So I roll down the highway seein’ things my way lookin’ at the clouds in the sky watch the miles pass by
So this is how it feels like a spooky old hindsight cuttin’ me so deep feels like a butcher knife
I woke up with too much on my chest, so I began to confess my past to you
Bad idea did too much talkin’, walked my walk and then someone stole my shoes
They stole my shoes and passed me the blues. I went downtown to hear the sound of the underground
I thought real hard about what I heard. Then I started thinkin’ ‘bout the lessons I’d never learned
So I roll down the highway seein’ things my way lookin’ at the clouds in the sky watch the miles pass by
I turn around and look back a beautiful train wreck slowly disappears with the time of a little white lie
So I roll down the highway seein’ things my way lookin’ at the clouds in the sky watch the miles pass by
I turn around and look back a beautiful train wreck slowly disappears with the time of a little white lie
Here today, gone tomorrow, watch me walk and it’s you I’ll follow down
My day has come try to believe me, close your eyes and you just might see me through
I shut my eyes and I bite my lip, sweaty hands and I lose my grip on you
Got no time and I’m losing patience, nothing left to do but let it go… nothing left to do but let it go
